Cheese is great to eat and even better to listen too. I was at this show and had farmies and veggies and dose and dank brew and chong and cash and a daft punk cd for shakedown street. I had many conversations with zen buddha masters in ditches near the roadway, the day was short and night stretched into days beyond. I ended up in sedona with a gypsy named eucalyptus in his bicycle converted into a minivan where we draped ourselves with pelts and sarongs selling rope flip flops fpr bargain prices
I just got into SCI and love them!...but now they dont tour anymore :( I dont know the band very well, but is there a chance that they'll get back together again? Id love to see them live!
You missed out. SCI is definitely the funnest band I've ever had the joy of experiencing. Their live shows were a true experience.
I doubt a reunion is going to happen soon. I saw their last shows and the energy between bandmembers was stale. They do all tour solo and with different groups nowadays. Occasionally they play together, but it's not cheese.
How about shut'n up and let'n people enjoy music ;) Yea everyone Knows jazz is great checkout Django,Stanley Jordan,Wooten, Chris Standring, Scofield.....
how about moving beyond the jamband scene and checking out jazz? I am a recovering phish head, and I look back now and don't think all that much of Phish- especially when I compare them to stevie wonder, james brown, duke ellington, charles mingus, miles 'greatest musical mind ever' davis;. Don't get me wrong, every once in a great while, I'll toss in foam or mango song and jam out. ahh, the memories.
Really, have you ever seen a live show from any of those individuals you just named? I have, and I can tell you that James Brown and Duke Ellington are absolutely horrible compared to SCI. Very professional, but no energy in it.
I have a fairly extensive collection of live recordings- including many james brown recordings, many stevie wonder recordings, and a shit-ton of duke. I'm sure they weren't as dancy and groovy as phish shows or many jambands, but that is the main difference perhaps- a jamband concert is about the moment. james and duke will hold up forever. votenader.orgasm :)
